As part of a community sponsorship program, Abell Point Marina last week presented the Proserpine Junior Cricket Association with a cheque for $1000. The sponsorship grant will be used to improve storage solutions for the junior cricket equipment, as well as to sponsor a new perpetual trophy which will annually recognize the best female cricketer.
Club secretary, Melinda Dwyer and Club President, Troy Pettiford accepted the cheque presented by Abell Point Marina Marketing & Business Development Manager, Joscelyn O’Keefe at the club’s ground on Friday.
Ms O’Keefe explains “We are delighted to be able to support several junior community sporting groups with sponsorship this year and the Proserpine Junior Cricket Association are worthy recipients. It was great to see the youngster enjoying their cricket at the grounds on Friday and a worthy mention goes to all the parents and volunteers who give up their time to contribute to this club, they do an incredible job.”
