“Welcome’’ says 5 Gold Anchor globally accredited marina Abell Point

Since attaining 5 Gold Anchor Global Marina Accreditation earlier this month the team at Abell Point Marina have added another level of service to their offer to further enhance the customer experience and reconfirm Abell Point as the destination marina of choice in the Whitsundays.

For first timers, entering a new marina can potentially be a daunting experience. Verbal directions over the radio often lead to confusion and locating your allocated berth sometimes requires a little assistance, which is why Abell Point Marina has launched its welcome vessel service.

The welcome vessel is designed to assist boats of all shapes and sizes into their correct berth allocation and the dockhand onboard will then be on hand to assist with the tying of lines and ensuring all arriving boats are berthed comfortably and secured correctly.

Business Development and Reservations Manager, Amy Nichols says of the new welcome vessel service “We are consistently monitoring feedback from our guests and identifying gaps in our service, which we can fill with new innovations and services. The welcome vessel provides peace of mind to new guests or those entering the marina requiring assistance due to mechanical failure for example, that someone is on hand to guide them in and ensure they are safely berthed in the correct berth allocation.’’

Adding an additional level of service to the popular Blue Carpet Treatment, the welcome vessel is just another service offer designed to assist customers with making their stay at the marina as easy and hassle free as possible. The service is aimed at first-time guests to provide a welcome introduction to both the marina itself, but also to the concierge service that offered throughout the length of a customer’s stay. In addition to first timers, vessels requiring additional assistance in berthing due to mechanical failure for example, will also benefit greatly from this new level of service.

  1. Our Motor Yacht Vegas cruises the Whitsundays and surrounding Great Barrier Reef extensively for 4 months of the year. Every year. We are in the region around Late July early August and do not leave until early December. We have cruised extensively throughout Australia and the South Pacific Islands all the way to Tahiti.

    We use many marina facilities throughout our travels. Whether it be long term or casual berthing, provisioning or overnight stays. There is no equal to the reception you get on arrival at Abel Point.

    It is not just the pleasant well educated staff. Or the effort they go to from the time they take your call on the phone to make a booking to your arrival at the dock. It is the culture instilled in every one involved at Abel Point Marina. Paul has built by far the best Super Yacht destination in Australia. It does not stop there. Paul and his highly motivated team ensure your stay is as stress free as humanly possible. They go out of their way to ensure this happens.

    The Marina provides courtesy cars. They provide Helicoptor transfers between the mainland and the airport on nearby Hamilton Island. Paul himself is Yacht owner and this reflects in the service he provides to other yacht owners from the many years he has cruised the waters in and around Australia. You cannot provide a better service unless you have experienced what other marinas offer.
