Marina


Pre-Arrival

The Marina comprises 507 wet berths and can accommodate vessels up to 60m. Each slip has fresh water and shore power and three phase requirements can be catered for. Premium services available include Wi-Fi internet access, after hours security patrols, pump out facilities, 24 hour fuel (including fast flow diesel), CCTV and secure gate access. It is protected by a unique rock wall breakwater and is cyclone rated – a perfect place for both long and short term stays.

Berthing

Berths are available from 12noon to 11am (on day of departure). Should you require an earlier berthing time please make arrangements with our reservations team, who will endeavour to meet specific berthing requirements whenever possible.

Every morning the friendly team walk the Marina to confirm vessels have departed, or intend extending their stay. From this information we then allocate the arrivals for the day. Due to the high volume of vessel traffic, occasionally there may be a need for temporary arrangements to be made.

Extending your Stay and Future Bookings

We understand that you may not get to experience the best Marina Booking
of the Whitsundays in one hit and you may need to extend your stay. Should that be the case, please notify us as soon as is convenient.

Weather Forecasts

A three-day weather forecast, including the tide chart and sea level pressure prognosis is printed daily. Copies are available for collection from both Marina Offices or can be located on our weather page.

VHF Radio

Abell Point Marina monitors VHF Channel 9. Call Sign ‘Abell Point Marina’.

Fuelling

The fuel wharf is available for public use. Due to the high volume of boat movements, it is essential to make a fuel booking in advance with the Marina Office. We allocate half an hour for each vessel to reduce congestion and to enable the next vessel to dock for its scheduled time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, assisting us to make it as easy as possible for all our customers.

For your convenience, for after hours fuelling requirements, we suggest you arrange an Abell Point Marina Fuel Card. Please ask our friendly staff for more information.

Gas Refills

Gas refills are available from both North and South marina offices. Please contact our staff for gas fill scheduling.

Security Gate Access

Every evening from 6pm to 6am each Marina gate is locked for security purposes. A key/security tag will be issued to you to allow after hours access. On your departure day, please return your key/ security tag to the Marina Office and your deposit will be refunded.

Laundry/ Lockers

Laundry facilities including washing machines and dryers are available at both the North and South Marina Village from 5:30am – 9:00pm.  Change machines are available for your convenience with lockers located in the North Marina Village laundry.

Amenities

Shower and bathroom facilities are available at both the Southern and Northern Marina precincts. Your Marina key/security tag provides access to these amenities. To ensure the best possible state of cleanliness, we complete regular checks of all our facilities. We also rely on our customers and operators to notify us of any shortfalls. Please contact the Marina staff if there is anything you believe needs our attention.

Refuse

Help Abell Point Marina to maintain our beautiful environment by using the appropriate bins to reduce the amount of land fill waste produced. We have two garbage disposal stations – opposite the North Marina office (in the turning circle), and adjacent to the South Marina office. There are recycling bins and we kindly ask that you please crush and/or flatten cardboard boxes. Garbage is cleared on a daily basis.

Trolleys

Trolleys are available to help with provisioning, garbage disposal, etc. A $20 deposit will be required and refunded on return of the trolley.

Wireless Broadband

MyPort is available for those who require a wireless internet connection – just select “MyPort hotspot” from your available network.

Insurance

All vessels staying in the Marina must have current full comprehensive insurance as well as Public Liability Insurance cover to the value of A$10M. A copy of the vessel’s current insurance documentation is required, along with a signed copy of the Licence Agreement when checking in. So rest assured in the comfort of knowing that your neighbour’s vessel is also adequately insured.

Electrical Cords

Please note, electrical cords or cables connecting to shore supply must have a current rating no less than 15A if the supply is a single phase. All electrical cords or cables must be tested and tagged by a qualified professional, and have been tested within the last 12 months.

Contractors & Tradespeople

Please help us to maintain high quality and standard of services provided by tradespeople. Contractors and tradespeople working in the Marina must be registered with the Marina prior to commencing work. Insurance and qualification certificates must be presented and all tools and cords must be tagged. Boat owners are responsible for any trades people they engage to undertake work on their vessel/s. It is the boat owner’s responsibility to ensure registration has occurred and insurance and qualifications are in place.

The Marina Village

The marina village has various services suiting most boating requirements – too many to mention! Please refer to the attached marina tenant services and directory, or simply explore the village at your own leisure.

After Hours Security

Airlie Beach Security has a full time presence in the Marina nightly from 6pm – 6am. If you have any security issues in the Marina during these hours, please phone 0427 775 652.
