Abell Point Marina has seen a vast array of new development over the last three years, both on and off the water. The development master plan is focussed on improving services for our marina guests and creating a vibrant destination marina for guests and visitors to the Airlie Beach/ Whitsunday region to enjoy. Receiving the Global 5 Gold Anchor Marina Accreditation in 2016 acknowledges the progress of Abell Point Marina and the strive for continuous improvement. The Northern Marina Village has been refurbished to ensure a relaxed environment in the midst of a vibrant port while providing easy access to marine services. New developments include the launch of the Abell Point Marina Flight Collection from our private helipads and Sorrentos Restaurant new upper-deck area proving to be the best outdoor area on the coast and a favourite with visitors and locals to catch the evening sunset.
The South Village marina has transformed into a vibrant arrival and departure plaza for visiting guests. An additional 250 car parking spaces have been created for customers to easily access the new Hemingway’s restaurant, the quirky Bohemian Raw cafe and the marine foreshore walkways and relaxation areas. With the addition of Bohemian Raw, R Marine Crawley and Airlie Adventure Central, the South Marina Village is a busy vibrant hub on a daily basis.
Launched in early 2016 and located in the heart of the South Village is our new contemporary styled, nautically themed function venue. Providing the perfect backdrop for a Whitsunday wedding or corporate gathering, Lure is fast becoming the venue of choice for any special event or celebration in the Whitsunday region. With an expansive marina facing balcony, Lure is the perfect place to hold an intimate or large gathering. Adding a touch of class to the marina’s leisure offer, the gourmet cuisine and relaxed atmosphere, set Lure apart from the pack.
The biggest developments that have occurred to the on-water operation is the service delivery. The customer is now a primary focus at Abell Point Marina and improved on-water services include a daily dockhand service to assist you with lines, provide gas refills or help with any on water logistics. The infrastructure team have worked hard to implement deep-water draft berths to 5m, whereas the introduction of R Marine Crawley’s floating state-of-the-art office on L Arm provides the marina customers with access to a full range of yacht management services.
