Abell Point Marina launches eConcierge app
Abell Point Marina is set to take customer service for guests and visitors to their marina to another level, by launching their e-concierge service in the form of a marina app. Available through Google and the Apple store, the Stay.Play.Explore app provides unprecedented access to information about the marina, it’s services and the Whitsundays.
The Abell Point Marina app is the brainchild of marina dockhand Matthew Smith. Working as a dockhand and being committed to customer service, Matthew saw a gap in the marina’s wide-ranging services, which he believed could be leveraged with digital technology, leading to the concept and development of a comprehensive e-concierge app.
Of the app development, Matthew says “With mobile applications now a part of everyday life, they provide a perfect platform for supporting Abell Point Marina in its commitment to providing quality customer service and making our customers stays as hassle free as possible. The original inspiration for creating an e-concierge came after directing many vessels to berths using verbal directions and visual references, which inspired the idea of an interactive map. It became clear that a way to easily locate a berth, access local information and services and manage their marina experience all at their own leisure was something that would be of great benefit to guests and customers of Abell Point Marina. Providing a source of information, links and maps, as well as the potential to include more features, it is my hope that the Abell Point Marina E-concierge can become a valuable resource for our customers“.
Guests and visitors to the marina are able to download the app before they arrive at the marina and review a wide range of information which will assist with planning their stay.
The app is intelligently designed into three key sections, the Stay section focussing on marina berthing, a detailed marina map, weather updates and contact information for a wide range of marine services proving highly useful for boat owners and crew entering the marina for repairs and maintenance. The Play section focusses on dining & accommodation, marina & local events and shopping and pampering services available in and around the marina, including listing contact details for the full range of commercial operators who call Abell Point Marina home. Finally, the Explore section focusses on how best to enjoy the Whitsunday Islands and mainland coast – from maps to hidden gems, this section is aimed at assisting guests and visitors getting the most from their Whitsunday experience.
Luke McCaul, Abell Point Marina General Manager explains of the app development, “The focus of the Blue Carpet Treatment we offer at Abell Point Marina is to go that extra mile for our customers, enhance their marina experience and in their absence give them the peace of mind that their boat is being well looked after. By providing guests, visitors and potential customers with an e-concierge app they can access on their mobile device or tablet, we are assimilating all the important information about the marina, the marina village and our range of services into one place.’’
From booking a helicopter ride, to locating the closest marine electrician or making a dinner reservation, the Abell Point Marina app is yet another step made by the team at Abell Point towards providing guests and visitors with a world-class destination marina and unrivalled customer service.
The Abell Point Marina app will be available to download from the Google Play and Apple stores now.
